Victory Dance Fitness Academy
VDFA is proud to be apart of VGA and we are super excited to be able to now offer dance classes. Our program will feature a session of 12 classes in 4 sessions, just like VGA. We will begin with the Winter 2018-2019 session. Our schedule is below and as well and class descriptions and dress code details.
Ballet - An introduction to ballet with beginning development of ballet concepts including turn out, coordination, strength, balance, poise, spatial awareness, and a specific focus on class etiquette. Students will begin working on positions of the feet, barre work, floor work, and movement vocabulary.
Hip Hop - Class includes warm-up followed by age-appropriate dance combinations to appropriate Hip-Hop tracks. We will work on developing coordination, strength, body balance, and self-confidence in this fun, athletic class!
Pom & Cheer - This high-energy class concentrates on proper warm-up exercises, stretching, movement, facial expression, power, performance, and stance. It is for the dancer who is interested in combining dance skills with energy and enthusiasm. Class sessions are designed to improve self-confidence, physical health, and teamwork skills all while having a ton of fun! Learn and perfect proper arm placement, choreography, and jumps!
Dance Fusion -This is our version of Zumba. Classes can be enjoyed by child and or adults. You can sign up for the whole 12 weeks in advance to secure your spot each week or just come when you want.
*Pointe shoes are not acceptable at this time
Hip-Hop: Jazz shoes or clean gym shoes acceptable, athletic wear
Pom: Jazz shoes or clean gym shoes acceptable, athletic wear
Ballet Technique Includes
Five basic arm and feet positions, plie, elevé, relevé, passe, retire, demi-plié, grand plié, tendu, chassé, chainé, ronde de jambe, arabesque, glissade, jete, pique.
Pom Technique Includes
High V, Low V, T, broken T, left and right diagonals, touchdown, daggers, candlesticks, tuck jump, pike, toe touch, splits.
